The Radio Sunderland Archive

Radio Sunderland was founded in 1953 and since then has been involved in many events in and around Sunderland.

 

In this part of the website you will find a selection of old audio recordings and photographs from some of these events.

 

Sadly, only a fraction of what we have done over the past fifty years or so has been documented. If anyone has any photographs or audio recordings of Radio Sunderland we would very much appreciate a copy to allow us to add to our archives, see the 'contact us' section for more details.

 

Gathering this material together and preparing it for the website is a time consuming process and it will take a while before this section is complete so please call back often to see what's new!

 

As a teaser of thing's to come, here's a song from a live recording made by Radio Sunderland of the Scottish folk duo Robin Hall and Jimmie MacGregor. We can't say for certain but we're fairly sure i t was recorded at Seaburn Hall in approximately 1975 - if you know differently please get in touch!
