Management

Every organisation needs rules and regulations and someone holding the reigns. At Radio Sunderland this is the job of the Management Committee who work to the Association’s Constitution and Standing Orders.

Committee positions are chosen democratically in October at our A.G.M. by a vote of all the eligible members.

There are six committee posts:

Chairman/Treasurer: Responsible for liaison with the health authority, chairing meetings and maintaining the accounts of Radio Sunderland in accordance with rules of the Charity Commission.

Secretary: Minutes meetings, deals with correspondence and other paperwork.

Public Relations and Fundraising Officer: An important position as this role ensures Radio Sunderland raises sufficient funds to keep broadcasting. Also responsible for dealing with outside media and marketing and promoting the work of Radio Sunderland.

Technical Officer: Responsible for the maintenance of the studio and outside broadcast equipment. Recommends, sources and installs new equipment when necessary.

Training Officer: Responsible for studio based training, including presentation and technical operation - also known as ‘Driving the Desk’!

Request Co-ordinator: Carries out "ward etiquette" training at the Sunderland Royal hospital and organises a Request Collection Rota, ensuring that each edition of "Ward Call" has sufficient requests.

Programme Controller: Devises our programme schedule and organises staff to fill it. Monitors programme quality and assess new programme ideas from staff.
