Located in the City of Sunderland, in Tyne and Wear, Radio Sunderland for Hospitals is a registered charity staffed entirely by volunteers.
Established in 1953 we provide a free personal hospital radio service to the bedside of patients in the Sunderland Royal Hospital.
We broadcast our programmes of music, news and information direct to the patients 24 hours- a-day on the hospital network via Hospedia bedside units and they are also available via our online stream. We produce a number of specialised programmes including the patients music request programme Ward Call and of course, we provide full football match commentary of every Sunderland A.F.C. home game.
